Ichthyhosaur
Pronounced: ick-THEE-o-sawr
Literally, "fish-lizard"
One of the land-living reptiles that returned to the water and became fish-like in form and habit. They lived during the upper Jurassic and lower Cretaceous periods, some 175 million years ago. Helpless as a fish on land, they were often stranded like this during periods of low water.
